Our primary center: Salerno

Salerno is the main hub for our study abroad programs thanks to its authenticity, affordability, safety, strong local community, and easy access to major cultural destinations (Amalfi, Naples, etc).

In our centrally located, well connected school, students can choose to follow Italian language programs and academic content courses or opt for supervised internships and volunteering to gain hands on experience.

Italian language at the core

Language instruction is central to all our programs and is available at every destination.

Courses are offered at all levels, from absolute beginner to advanced (A1–C2), and are taught by native-speaking, certified teachers.

While learning Italian, students may also prepare for official Italian language certifications, such as CELI, CILS, PLIDA, and AIL.

Academic courses for credit transfer

Academic content courses are designed to meetU.S. academic standards and are taught at university level, in English or Italian. Each course is worth 3 credits.

Course areas include art history and archaeology, Italian literature, Italian history, performing arts, and Mediterranean diet and cuisine. Classes are held in the afternoon and include lectures, field visits, museum activities, and cultural workshops.

Supervised internships in Italy

Supervised internships are available in Salerno for students seeking practical experience in an Italian professional setting.

Internships are non-paid, require a minimum duration of four weeks, and are worth 3 U.S. credits.

Supervision, evaluation, and a final written report are included in the experience for reflection.

OPTION 1: DIRECT RECOGNITION

With direct recognition, students submit the chosen course syllabi to their home university for approval. Once approved by the study abroad office, credits are recognized upon completion.

OPTION 2: SCHOOL OF RECORDS

For colleges requiring U.S. validation, students may enroll through a school of records, which validates and issues an official U.S. transcript. In such case, an additional fee applies per course.
